Multilingual Competence

Translation true to the original style thanks to fluency in English, French and German.

The film and TV business is getting more international than ever, German production companies work more and more with investors and production companies from abroad. TV shows and films produced abroad are adapted and translated for the German market. Therefore the translator needs to have a firm grasp of the written and spoken language, slang, dialects spoken in the concerning regions and countries. A text cannot be translated literally because humour and lingual systems of the individual cultures are different. The translator needs to analyse every joke and every allusion and adapt them to the target language. The translation should be as exciting, funny and moving as the original text or spoken word. That requires a well-grounded and profound multilingual competence.
